This is a beautiful early Japanese doll recently found in the Hudson Valley area of New York State. He is in beautiful, original condition with oyster shell hands and face, original early hair and costume. Layers of pulverized oyster shells were built up and then polished to a high sheen in the making of these dolls in Japan. A beautiful piece out of an early house in the area. He has an amazing face and eyes. Condition, excellent. Hauntingly beautiful!
