Small Russian Olivewood Log with Bark Turning Wood 9x2.5 in 12 oz
This straight little olivewood log is for your woodworking projects such as woodturning, carving, small natural edge bowls, pens or to gradually use as stock for several small projects and insets.
Highly prized for its beautiful coloring and exceptional grain, Russian Olivewood is a favorite of woodturners. The wood is hard and strong, and has superior working characteristics, making it well suited for wood turning, splicing and carving.
What makes this hardwood so unique is the extraordinary grain pattern of each individual piece, as well as the distinctive and pleasing fragrance that it gives off. It even becomes darker, richer, and more beautiful in color as it ages. It finishes very smoothly, to a high polish.

Log was cut from a tree approximately 12 years old that was felled in July 2008, and has been air drying ever since, so wood is partially dry.
