This is an adorable pair of ceramic bookends with a sense of humor. It is composed of a penguin who has been split into front and back for each piece of the set. The front shows a penguin with a yellow hat and a fish in its beak. It is sitting on what we assume to be blue ice, holding another fish, with a third one leaping out of the penguin's bucket. The other piece of the set shows the back end of the penguin, its tail hanging over the edge of the ice with bits of greenery sticking out. It looks absolutely delightful when set with books in between both pieces. We have had the set for years and it's in exactly the same condition. There are two places where it appears labels once resided but they weren't there when we purchased them and they haven't reappeared! They are of marvelous quality, definitely made by a talented craftsman with a wonderful imagination. The set is in excellent condition, waiting to embrace your own books! Each bookend measures 5" x 3 1/2" x 3 1/4" . They are enchanting little charmers!
