Around here we have red mud ( like pottery clay - Tano Indians used it in their pottery hundreds of years ago ) but we don't have any mud that looks like this - it is amazing . This bead has deep rich colors - olive green , golden yellow and very dark red . I think I have also heard this called " tapestry stone " and I can see why . It does look a bit like a tapestry with its colors and patterns . I would call this bead rugged and rustic - it has character ( it is just a stone being a stone with little fissures that are natural ) . It has been finished with a coat of shellac - to bring out the colors I would imagine . It is drilled lengthwise through the bead and measures 40mm x 30mm and is 7mm thick .
The bead in the photo is the one you will receive .
