MacKinnon Hunting Modern Tartan is a dark brown-based tartan with shades of green and white. Woven using finest acrylic yarn, this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
The MacKinnons are a West Highland clan and claim descent from Fingon, the great-grandson of Kenneth MacAlpin, King of Scots, who was killed in 837. They supported the Jacobites in the Risings of 1715 and 1745, and the chief was taken prisoner during the last Rising and was imprisoned in the Tower of London.
