Japanese Drama: Densha Otoko
Plot Summary
Yamada Takashi (played by Junichi Ito) is 22 years old, a short, plain-looking man who doesn't dress fashionably and is generally unremarkable. He's obsessed with video games and anime (commonly known as an otaku), has never been in a romantic relationship, dresses very old-fashionedly, and is always a bit slow to react. He enjoys taking the train to Akihabara's electronics street. One day, a girl (played by Misaki Ito) is being harassed on the train, and without a second thought, he steps in to help her, captivated by her beauty. Soon after, the girl sends him a set of Hermès teacups as a thank-you gift, and his feelings for Miss Hermès begin to grow uncontrollably. Troubled by his emotions, he posts about it online. Many people genuinely offer him various advice, and after receiving encouragement and guidance from others, 'Train Man' finally musters the courage to approach Miss Hermès: 'Let's have a meal together, please.' And thus, the story begins.
