A Brooklyn native, Frank Kleinholz worked first as a lawyer, but began to study painting and printmaking in the ‘30s, giving up his law practice in 1945 to concentrate on his art. His early experiences influenced his artistic viewpoint, and in later years he prided himself on being considered an “artist of the working class and an activist in a wide variety of political and social struggles.”.
