Backstory
Martin Li was a Chinese immigrant who came to America seeking a better life.

He was subjected to illegal human experimentation by the crimelord Silvermane, which fused him with the Darkforce (a negative extradimensional energy).

The experiment split his personality into two:

Martin Li (good) – A kind-hearted philanthropist who runs the F.E.A.S.T. shelters, helping the homeless.
