This souvenir hanky is made of silk and is probably parachute silk, a fabric collected and recycled during WWII. It is printed with a blue telegram form with a pink rose top and bottom. The hem is hand rolled.
The post mark on the telegram is Mai 21 Tilburg Holland. The date and town are hand printed in ink. Only Holland is part of the hanky design. Written in ink on the telegram form is Hartelyk Gefeliciteerd. My guess is that this is a congratulatory message and might be related to either the liberation of Holland or death of Hitler during WWII. Of course it might not have anything at all to do with the war but the era is correct.
The hanky has not been used. It is 11 inches square. Condition is as new with some minor sticker residue left from the factory.
