Hailing from South Africa, this amazing plant is actually a bulb. Left in the soil they will gradually multiply to form a clump. What makes this clump so exciting is that every bulb produces a different variation of the spiral leaf formation. So the overall effect is very eye catching. The tightest spirals form in hot and dry situations with lots of light.

Why do the leaves of Albuca 'Frizzle Sizzle' spiral? Well, it is a clever trick of nature to help the plant survive hot and dry conditions.

Plant Albuca 'Frizzle Sizzle' in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. They are suitable for pots, where you should use a succulent or cactus potting mix. Give them plenty of sun. They like similar conditions to Succulents. In cool climates especially, shelter the plant from winter wet.

Plant the bulb in a 3-4" pot with at least one hole for drainage with half of the bulb exposed above the soil and the sprout pointing up. Use a cactus and succulent soil. (70% peat, + coir - clay - sand) Water thoroughly, then keep evenly moist, but not too wet or dry. Water once every two weeks.
