The Stingiest Man in Town (1978) DVD Movie

"The Stingiest Man in Town" is a 1978 animated Christmas musical special based on Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol." It was created by Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass and uses traditional animation instead of stop motion. This special is a remake of a live-action musical from 1956 that starred Basil Rathbone and Vic Damone. The live-action version aired on NBC's "The Alcoa Hour" and was released on DVD in 2011. The animated version first aired on December 23, 1978, in the U.S. and was shown in Japan the next day.
