This is our interoperation of the movie version, designed and crafted by me and printed on our 3D printer with "Emerald Green" colored filament and hand embellished. Measures 7 inches at the bottom 8.5 inches at the top.. The Cowardly Lion’s Flowerpot Crown with two ornate gold rings. A perfect theatrical prop or costume embellishment.

In the Book
Lions are supposed to be "The Kings of Beasts," the Cowardly Lion believes that his fear makes him inadequate. He does not understand that courage means acting in the face of fear, which he does frequently. Only during the aftermath of the Wizard's gift, when he is under the influence of an unknown liquid substance that the Wizard orders him to drink is he not filled with fear.

In the 1939 movie version of this classic story, The Wizard of Oz , the Lion also got a Medal from the Wizard that highlights his courage in the face of wicked witches.


HISTORICAL NOTES
The original Courage Medal prop from the 1939 film, a cross-shaped medal made of poly-chromed metal and measuring 7.5 × 7.5" (19.1 × 19.1 cm), features a lion in profile above a crown and a knight's helmet and the word "Courage" in raised blue scroll lettering. In the late 1950s, Mal Caplan, the head of the costume department at MGM was in a life-threatening automobile accident, and spent months in the hospital before returning to work. For some time he was unable to sit upright and had to work from a chaise longe. In recognition of his courage, his colleagues and the management at MGM presented him with the Cowardly Lion's Courage Medal. He was also given the Tin Man's "heart", but he gave that to "someone who needed it", a man in the same hospital who was having open heart surgery. The current whereabouts of the heart clock are unknown. The Courage Medal remained in the Caplan family until it was consigned to a Sotheby's Entertainment Memorabilia auction in May 1997. The medal was purchased by a New Jersey collector, and in November 2010 was featured on episode 7 of the TV show Hollywood Treasure.

If a costume item it must be in undamaged condition . must be returned in a fully re-sellable condition and any packaging must be intact. We reserve the right to refuse a refund if goods are not returned in a re-sellable condition or are damaged. A 100% refund of the items purchase prince will be given upon the return of said item and after it has been inspected. ALL shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping will be the purchaser's responsibility.

PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS, make sure it conforms to USPS recommendations. Any order that is shipped with an "Etsy/USSP" questionable address will not be refunded if lost and if the USPS then can not locate, return or deliver it.

If your unsure what address form you should use to ensure accurate mail delivery just refer to any UTILITY BILL. You know they got your address right. (LOL)

If a package is returned due to a wrong address supplied by the customer additional shipping must be paid to our PayPal account before the package can be reshipped.

If you are purchasing multiple items from my shop, please know that they WILL BE combined to insure you a better shipping rate. Any difference will be refunded. I ship as soon as I can usually within a few hours when possible. In the event of a holiday/bad weather or such within 2 (two) business days. US Postal Service, and Weather conditions are not within my control. Sometimes actual delivery can be slightly longer than expected, I ask for your understanding and patience.

AJ Winkies is not responsible for ANY & ALL purchases that ARE Shipped and tracking indicates that the purchase package has reached the designated country but has failed to be delivered to the buyers supplied address. NO REFUNDS will be made. The USPS and AJWinkies has zero control once it reached the country it has been shipped too. Etsy’s 3rd party shipping agent does not supply valid international tracking information outside the United States. I am SORRY that this is a potential problem I recommend you purchase insurance on your purchases.
