Tokyo Long White Bunching Onion is an excellent producer with moderate bolt resistance. Not for over-wintering. These green onions do not form bulbs and do not multiply by division.Produces lovely white stalks with green leaves. Sow and Plant
Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in a sunny location in late spring after danger of all frost is passed and when soil temperatures are consistently above 50°F. Keep soil moist and fertilize as needed. Longer white stems can be achieved by mounding earth up over the stems to blanch them. Bunching onions may be harvested at any stage, from microgreen to full maturity.
Harvest
65-100 days to Maturity. Slightly pungent, long white shanks with stiff blue-green tops. Resistant to hot weather and also fairly cold tolerant, but not recommended for over-wintering. This bunching onion has long, slim stalks that mature to 16-28" tall. The 4-5" white shank of the stalk has a mild sweet flavor..
