How to Cultivate Gedong Gincu Mango
Conditions for Growing Gedong Gincu Mango
Gedong gincu mango is best planted in lowland areas with an altitude of 0-500 meters above sea level; has rainfall of around 1000 mm/year with 3-6 dry months; has an optimum level of around 24-27 degrees Celsius and the soil has a pH or acidity level of around 5.5-6.5. The need for sunlight is very crucial for maximum results.

Preparation of Gedong Gincu Mango Seeds
Gedong gincu mango seeds can be obtained from seeds, the seeds are selected from quality fruit and then sown until they sprout. Seeding can be done in two different ways, namely the drying method or the soaking method:

Drying Method

Dry the seeds with paper towels and place them in a bright, dry place for about 3 weeks.
Once the 3 weeks have passed, try to open the seed halfway without actually breaking it in half. The parts just need to be slightly separated. Once achieved, leave it for another week.
In the container, place fertile soil. Dig a small hole about 8 inches deep, and plant your mango seed with the seed navel down and push the seed in.
Depending on the soil, water when dry or daily.
Within 4-6 weeks, the seedlings will grow to a height of around 10-20 cm.
Once the seedling is large enough to where it has established a strong, healthy root system, you can move it to a larger pot or outdoors.
Soaking Method

Crack the outer shell of the seed just a little with sandpaper or make a small cut into the mango seed.
Place the seeds in a bottle with water and store in a warm place for 24 hours.
Remove the seeds from the bottle and wrap them in a damp paper towel. Place the seeds wrapped in a paper towel in a plastic bag and cut one corner of the bag.
Keep the towel wet with regular watering and the mango seeds will grow in 1-2 weeks.
Store seeds in a warm, moist place.
But if you don't want to bother, you can buy gedong gincu mango seeds ready to plant at a plant shop or seed shop.

Land Preparation for Gedong Gincu Mango Planting
First, clean the planting area of weeds or other disturbing plants. After that, make a planting hole with a depth of 30 cm with a planting distance of around 5 x 5 meters. Leave the planting hole for about a month.

Planting Gedong Gincu Mango
Once everything is ready, immediately start planting. The soil used to dig holes is mixed with manure in a ratio of 1:1. Put the planting media mixture into the hole up to a third of the way, then put the seedlings in the hole, then backfill them and compact them a little, then do enough watering.

Maintenance of Gedong Gincu Plants
Water regularly every day if it doesn't rain. Once the plant is 4-5 years old, there is no need to water it anymore so that the plant is stimulated to flower, especially from May to June. If the flowers appear, the tree can be watered again so that the fruit produced is optimal.

Weed weeds or other nuisance plants. This weeding can be done manually using hands or tools or it can also be done chemically using pesticides.

So that the nutrients needed by Gedong Gincu mango plants are met, it is necessary to fertilize using manure, compost, NPK, Urea, KCI, and Super Nasa. Usually fertilizer is given by putting it in a hole made near the plant at a dose of 30-40 kg and this fertilizer is given every 2 years, given at the beginning of the rainy season and also every mid-year.

Also carry out regular pruning to produce quality fruit. Pruning can include maintenance pruning, and fertilization.
