Each pack contains 25 tea bags of Mate cocido with Mountain Blend, Berries and Orange, Tus Sabores Favoritos Mate Cocido de Hierbas Serranas Frutos del Bosque y Naranja

These convenient yerba mate tea bags are ideal for preparing a delicious hot or iced mate with minimal fuss and no mess. Perfect on the go, or away from your home e.g. at work.

Preparation: The tradition of drinking yerba mate is such an important part of the South American culture, specifically in Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, although it is also enjoyed in other South American countries. Typically, it is drunk from a natural gourd (a hollowed out fruit) used as a cup, and then sipped through a metal straw known as a bombilla that has a filtered end to separate the infusion from the yerba leaves.

However it is commonly enjoyed in tea bag form for convenience. The taste is the same as the traditional loose leaf prepared brew. It is important not to brew with boiling water. The ideal temperature is 82C but if you don’t have a thermometer don’t worry – if you switch your kettle off a little before it is furiously boiling, this will be fine. To prepare, it is best to brew yerba mate tea bags for 2-3 minutes. If you find it too strong and bitter, reduce brewing time. If you like a very strong infusion, increase brewing time.

For iced yerba mate, brew as normal with hot water, then cool with ice.
