Vintage 1944 Old Gold Cigarettes Print Ad Apple Honey The Fresher The Better

This is an Original, Vintage Print Magazine Advertisement from a large format type magazine from the year 1944 for "Old Gold Cigarettes". The Ad title is "The Fresher, The Better" subtitle being "Apple Honey Helps Keep Old Golds Fresh". Old Golds at the time were known because of the fact a mist of Apple "Honey", the nectar of luscious apples, was sprayed on their tobaccos which helped hold in the natural freshness. This Ad was their introduction of yet another new ingredient being added to the mix and that was "Latakia" (a costly imported leaf), which gave the cigarettes an even richer flavor. Also one will learn from this Ad that to do their part for the war and help save materials for war needs the cellophane jackets of the pack had been taken off for the summer of 1944.The picture in Ad shows a young Navy man getting fresh by stealing a kiss on the cheek from a young lady while he grabbing up an apple from her tray. This is a Black and White colored Advertisement, 13 3/4" Inches X 10" Inches in size. This is one of a few products being advertised in that decade that are still here today.One day these old ads will be gone and they don't make them like this anymore. The ads at the first part of the century were the best of the best no matter what was being advertised they drew your attention and held it.
