1944 WWII Original Print Magazine Ad Revere Copper and Brass US Military Wartime

This is an Original, Vintage Advertisement from the year 1944, in fact it was a large format LIFE Magazine. The Ad is titled "Paul Revere Rides Again" and is a Black and White Colored Ad. It is advertising the Brand "Revere Copper and Brass Incorporation" and gives lots of good information on the product(s) they produced during WWII. If you didn't know it once you finish reading the ad you will know that Paul Revere of the Revolutionary War was the founder of the company bearing his last name. He struck many good blows for us in the war for Independence and earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, but the most important thing he did was to produce for his country. At the time there was a desperate need for gunpowder, so with the government's help he built two powder mills for manufacturing it. In addition he found out there was the same need for cannons so he took his peacetime skills of metalwork to war production and the cannons he cast helped us mightily to win the war and his work was the beginnings of the company bearing his name advertised here. Many things he worked on during the war, he improved on or they were ideas for another product that everyday civilians could use in homes or their businesses and in time this led to him opening the doors to his new business in 1801. Now fast forward to the year 1944 and his company is still here, only much bigger and much older in 1944, it was 143 years old and was known as one of the best in the world for fabricators of copper, brass, magnesium, aluminum, bronze and steel Alloys. Then history repeated itself and Revere began supplying millions of lbs of Revere alloys to plants across the country who had turned to making war equipment- ammunition, trucks, tanks, planes, ordnance and more.Then again just as it had over 140 yrs previously many of the wartime developments led to reduced costs or improved performance in the post war years for products needed in civilian's homes and businesses. "SO PAUL REVERE HAD RODE AGAIN" over 140 years later. This Ad full of valuable historic information is 13" inches X 10" inches in size and on it's backside is a half page ad from Sunbeam with its product -the new automatic coffeemaker the "COFFEEMASTER". Along with this ad is two photographs of the war action raging in Europe.One day these old ads will be gone and they don't make them like this anymore. The ads at the first part of the century were the best of the best no matter what was being advertised they drew your attention and held it. Not only the ads but many of the products or brands are also gone, changed names or been replaced. As the old print periodicals become more scarce so do the wonderful ads that gave life and color to those remembered times. They help us to recall and document past times. They are living reminders of who we used to be. They give us a snapshot in time of style, beliefs, activities and daily life different from our own.
