Maud Humphrey 1993 Calendar Timeless Turn of the Century Art of Maud Humphrey

This is an original, vintage 1993 calendar titled "The Timeless Turn of the Century Art of Maud Humphrey". The calendar has twelve prints one for each month reproduced from the original, Turn of the Century Lithographs from the artist "Maud Humphrey". She was most famous for her delicate watercolors of babies and children. This calendar was the first ever in modern times to use her artwork. She was the mother of three children one her only son and she named him Humphrey Bogart, who would become a famous actor much to his mothers chagrin. As a young child his mother would often use him as a model for her paintings, often dressed in girls clothing. When he was older friends would bring calendars,candy box lids, or magazine covers asking if they were his mothers work and if he had posed for them. Maud would remain scornful her whole life on his decision to become an actor even after she moved to Hollywood to spend her final years with him until her death in 1940 at age 75. Each page of the calendar is 12" inches X 9" inches in size with 12 lithograph pieces of art each taking a page, a page for each of the 12 month's and in back of the calendar a years calendar for 1993, 1994 and 1995, and a final page with a biography of Maud Humphrey. Each art print has its own title including January-Tea and Gossip, March-Cleaning House, May- The Maternal Cares, July- A Little Golfer, and more. This will make a great gift or be great for your own collection whether beginning or advanced.
