Calego black patent leather clutch purse with plastic handle vintage handbag ll1580

A vintage black patent leather handbag or clutch purse made by Calego in Canada. The shiny patent is gathered onto a gold tone frame that opens with a kiss closure. The handle is hard plastic, maybe lucite, and folds into the purse if you want to use the bag as a clutch. The lining is a silky rayon with a jaquard woven print. No rips or tears.

Clean--the one mark shown in the photo is now gone. There is a faint mark on the patent that I have not gotten rid of but it fades into the shine of the patent. This bag looks 1950s but could be later. The frame is slightly askew. Proper tools could put it right. This is not noticable. The kiss closure still works but is not quite as tight as from the factory. The bag measures 5 x 12 inches.
