The visible grain on the blade comes from the repeated folding of the blade during the forging process. The blades are then heat treated, tempered and oil quenched to achieve optimal levels of flexibility and hardness, bright and sharp enough to cut fruit, bamboo, water bottles and more
Hilt/scabbard: Both hilt and scabbard are made of "solid wood".
