The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, Vocabulary and Comprehension Test is a terrific way to assist ESOL, ELL, and primary students in learning vocabulary and testing their comprehension of the story!
What’s included?
*Vocabulary picture lists are included.
-> The list sheets have words and pictures across from each other and are intended for someone to point to the picture and ask "What is this?" This allows the student to see the word separate from the picture but still close to it. The word and picture set can also be folded in half, glued, and cut to make a vocabulary flash card. (Before you start to do this though, you may want to look at what else is included.)
*Picture with word cards are included.
-> The cards were made for the student to cut out and state the names of the objects, on the cards, for practice. The corresponding word is written under the item, so he can see and/or read the word too. (These are superb for categorizing and classifying!!)
*Picture and/or word flash cards are included.
->These cards were made to ask the student to identify the given word. The words can be printed on the back of the picture cards to provide a more common flash card format with the picture on one side and the word on the other. You can also use these separated words and text as a matching game for your literacy center! My students really enjoyed this!
*The following words are included: Jack-o’–lantern, pumpkin head (2), shoes, pants, shirt, gloves, hat, CLOMP CLOMP, SHAKE SHAKE, WIGGLE WIGGLE, NOD NOD, CLAP CLAP, BOO BOO, little old lady, fire, fireplace, door, chair (2), rocking chair, herbs, spices, seeds, nuts, hat (2), bonnet, scarecrow, cottage, clothesline, and basket.
*Reading Comprehension Test
*Answer Key for Comprehension Test
These differing vocabulary cards are terrific to aid students with orally retelling the story, working on sequence, answering oral comprehension questions, and discussing the words before and after reading. Simply print, cut, and use!
