2x Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter 100 mg, 24 film-coated tablets
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter is a medicinal product in the form of coated tablets, it is an antibacterial drug.
Indications
Indications for use of the drug Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter is used to treat the following diseases and ailments:
In acute and chronic diarrhea of bacterial origin.
In other diseases associated with diarrhea.
Composition
What does Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter contain?
The active substance is nifuroxazide. Each film-coated tablet contains 100 mg of nifuroxazide.
The other ingredients are: colloidal anhydrous silica, potato starch, gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol 20000, quinoline yellow (E 104).
Action
It has a local effect in the intestinal lumen against certain species of bacteria.
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter does not destroy non-pathogenic bacteria that normally occur in the digestive tract. It does not cause the development of strains of bacteria resistant to its effects. After oral administration, it is only partially (10-20%) absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is extensively metabolized. Nifuroxazide that is not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract is excreted unchanged in the feces.
Dosage
How to use Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter ?
The usual dose for adults and children aged 7 years and over is 2 tablets taken 4 times a day, every 6 hours.
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter is administered orally. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of fluid, for example a glass of water. The tablet should not be chewed or crushed.
If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days, contact your doctor.
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter should not be used for longer than 3 days without consulting a doctor.
During the treatment of diarrhea with Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter constant supplementary oral hydration of the body is necessary, so you should drink large amounts of fluids, preferably water, sweet or flavored drinks (average water consumption for an adult patient - 2 liters per day), to compensate for the loss of fluids caused by diarrhea.
In cases of severe and prolonged diarrhea, severe vomiting or reluctance to eat, intravenous rehydration should be considered.
If you feel that the effect of Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor.
