Basil microgreens are the baby shoots of new basil plants. Tiny basil seeds are sprouted in potting soil until they grow a few inches high and produce a few tiny little leaves. Basil microgreens are wonderful to enjoy in salads, sandwiches, or as a beautiful garnish on a meal.

The microgreen version of basil has a more intense flavor than the mature leaves without that chemical-like aftertaste that older basil can have.

Basil microgreens contain Vitamins A, B, C, E, and K. They also contain the following minerals: calcium, choline, iron, magnesium, manganese, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc. Furthermore, basil has chlorophyll, amino acids, and many antioxidants.
