Chinese Pink (Dianthus Chinensis Merry-Go-Round) - Grow this carefree annual from Dianthus seeds, and enjoy its long bloom season. Dianthus Chinensis is often referred to as Chinese Pink or Indian Pink and is low-growing and looks wonderful in the front of the border or in containers. The name Pink does not refer to the color but rather to the serrated edges which look like they have been cut with pinking shears. This Merry-Go-Round Dianthus variety is single flowered, white with a red ring. It is truly a unique Dianthus Chinensis flower and will add a burst of brightness to your landscape.

For early blooms, sow Dianthus China Pink seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before frost season is over. Use sterile starter mix and sow seeds on the surface. Barely cover Dianthus seeds with soil. Transplant seedlings when temperatures have warmed. Or sow Dianthus flower seed directly outside after frost season has passed and soil temperatures are warming to a minimum of 40 degrees or warmer. Broadcast flower seed and lightly rake in to the soil no more than 1/8th deep and keep flower seed moist until germination.
