Super Fuchsia Magellanica Seeds Pcs 20 Fuchsia De Magellan
The Magellanic Fuchsia is a shrub, which can reach 3 m in height, but generally of a more modest size in cultivation
It is native to South America, and more particularly to southern Peru, Argentina, to southern Chile. (This area includes the Strait of Magellan, which explains the name of this species.)
The red and purple flowers follow one another over a long period in spring, summer and until frost.
It is one of the most cold-resistant fuchsias, with a stump resistance of around -12°C to -15°C. The aerial part is more fragile, and will begin to suffer from -5°C.
In mild climates, the foliage of this fuchsia is semi-evergreen, but becomes obsolete as soon as the frosts intensify. The leaves are opposite, solitary or grouped. They are elliptical or oval, glabrous, paler below than above.
