Large monoecious tree 30 meters high, it flowers in spring and is distributed throughout Syria-Turkey and Lebanon, it occurs in generally dry poor soils, even enduring somewhat limestone areas. With drooping branches and a pyramidal crown, this tree has a very thick trunk and is suitable for making all kinds of curious bonsai. It is of medium growth tending to slow especially if the climatic conditions are very adverse. It is a tree that must always be in FULL SUN.
The seeds germinate irregularly and need prior treatment. It is best to prepare the treatment in winter to sow them in mid-spring. To do this, first leave the seeds to soak for 24 hours, then let them dry for an hour in the shade, then place them in a wet sandy mixture for a month in the fridge. As soon as the term is over, they should be sown directly in a seedbed with a seed coat and substrate or any other sandy mixture. The planting area must be bright-warm but not in full sun, the substrate must be kept humid, transplant the plants when they have several pairs of leaves to their final place in full sun. It takes weeks or several months to be born, the wait can be somewhat desperate.
