Nicorette Classic Gum 2mg, chewing gum, 105 pieces

Indications: Medicinal chewing gum Nicorette Classic Gum is indicated in the treatment of addiction to tobacco products in people who decide to quit smoking by reducing nicotine craving and withdrawal symptoms that occur after stopping smoking.

Action: when the patient stops smoking cigarettes and nicotine is no longer supplied to the body on a regular basis, various nicotine withdrawal symptoms begin to appear, including irritability, anxiety, mood disorders, dizziness and headaches, and sleep disturbances. Using Nicorette Classic Gum chewing gum, they can be prevented or weakened by providing the body with small doses of nicotine in a short period of time. The nicotine contained in Nicorette Classic Gum is administered in its pure form. Unlike cigarettes, Nicorette Classic Gum chewing gum does not emit harmful tar or carbon dioxide, which are formed in the combustion process.

Dosage: Nicorette Classic Gum chewing gum should not be used by persons under 18 years of age without the recommendation of a doctor. Data on the treatment of this age group with Nicorette Classic Gum are limited. The initial dose should be individualized depending on the patient's degree of nicotine dependence. Typically, 8 - 12 gums with the appropriate nicotine content per day are used. Smokers with a low degree of dependence (Fagerström Test of Nicotine Dependence (FTND) < 6 or smoking = < 20 cigarettes/day) should start treatment with a dose of 2 mg. Highly dependent smokers should start treatment with a 4 mg dose. Do not use more than 24 gums per day. Cessation of smoking: the gum should be used for at least 3 months. Then start gradually weaning off the gum. Treatment should be stopped when the dose is reduced to 1-2 gummies per day. Nicorette Classic Gum makes it easier to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked per day, to take the first step in quitting smoking for people who are unwilling or unable to quit suddenly. In order to extend the intervals between smoking and to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked as much as possible, the gum should be used in the periods between smoking cigarettes when the urge to smoke arises. If after 6 weeks you have not achieved a reduction in the number of cigarettes smoked per day, you should consult your doctor. An attempt to stop smoking should be considered as soon as possible, but no later than 6 months after starting treatment. If a serious attempt to stop smoking is not possible within 9 months of starting treatment, a doctor should be consulted. In general, regular use of gums for more than 12 months is not recommended. Some ex-smokers may need longer treatment to avoid returning to smoking. Unused gum should be saved in case of sudden nicotine cravings. Seek advice from support groups as they can help you quit smoking and help you complete treatment successfully. Temporary abstinence: gum should be used during breaks between cigarettes when the urge to smoke arises, for example in places where smoking is prohibited or in other situations where you want to avoid smoking. The gums can be used alone or in combination with nicotine-containing patches. The use of more than one form of nicotine replacement therapy is beneficial for smokers who have relapsed after using NRT monotherapy in the past, or who have difficulty controlling the urge to smoke while on monotherapy. Therefore, if necessary, Nicorette Invisipatch 15 mg/16 h and Nicorette Classic Gum 2 mg medicated chewing gum can be used in combination. Nicorette Invisipatch 15 mg/16 h should be applied in the morning after waking up and removed after 16 hours before going to bed. It should be used according to the dosage approved for monotherapy. Nicorette Classic Gum 2 mg should be chewed when you feel a strong desire to smoke a cigarette, not exceeding the maximum daily dose of 15 gums. The gum can be used in this way for a period of 12 weeks, then the use of gums should be gradually reduced. The maximum time of using the gums is 12 months. Chew gum when you feel the urge to smoke. The gum is chewed to release the nicotine and then the chewing is stopped to allow the nicotine to be absorbed through the oral mucosa. Nicotine swallowed with saliva has no beneficial effect and in excess can irritate the throat or stomach, causing, for example, hiccups. Nicorette Classic Gum should not be chewed like regular gum continuously and vigorously, as nicotine is released too intensively. Therefore, Nicorette Classic Gum should be chewed slowly, taking regular breaks. Chew the gum slowly until you feel the taste. Then stop chewing and keep the gum between your gum and cheek. Start chewing again when the taste wears off. This operation should be repeated for 30 minutes. This is how long it takes for all the nicotine contained in the gum to be released. The gum should be stopped chewing when it loses its taste completely.

Composition: 1 chewing gum contains: active substance: nicotine 2mg (in the form of a 20% nicotine resin complex). Other Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate (2 mg dose only), Sodium Carbonate Anhydrous, Gum Base, Sorbitol Powder, Sorbitol (Solution), Flavor ZD-49284 (Haverstroo), Flavor 84.6422, Glycerin 85%.

Some patients may continue to use Nicorette Classic Gum for longer than the recommended treatment period. but the potential risk of long-term use is much lower than the risk of addiction associated with relapse to smoking.
