Start by sowing the Indian tobacco seeds in well-draining soil Seed 25

It's great that you enjoy growing Lobelia inflata and find it useful for keeping tomato worms away from your tomato plants. Lobelia inflata, commonly known as Indian tobacco, has a long history of traditional medicinal uses as well.

To propagate Lobelia inflata, you can use either cuttings or seeds. If you choose to use seeds, they can be sown in containers in mid-spring or mid-fall. The seeds typically take about two weeks to germinate.

It's important to note that while Lobelia inflata has traditional medicinal uses, consuming it can cause adverse effects. Some of these effects may include sweating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, rapid heartbeat, mental confusion, convulsions, hypothermia, coma, or even death. The roots of the plant are toxic and should not be eaten.

If you're growing Lobelia inflata for its fragrance and to repel tomato worms, it's important to ensure that you handle the plant with care and avoid ingesting any parts of it. As always, it's a good idea to consult reliable sources and exercise caution when using plants for any purposes, especially when it comes to potential medicinal effects.
