It contains a synthetic hormone called levonorgestrel, the active substance in a dose of 1,500 micrograms. The likely mechanism of action of levonorgestrel is based on two methods of preventing conception . Escapelle 1500 is believed to work on the one hand by inhibiting the release of an egg by the ovaries, i.e. preventing ovulation. On the other hand, its action is based on preventing the fertilization of the egg cell already released by the ovaries.

The active substance levonorgestrel prevents ovulation and conception, provided that sexual intercourse has taken place in the pre-ovulatory period. Escapelle is not effective if the woman is already pregnant or the implantation of the egg has already started. Also, if you have had unprotected sex after taking this hormonal medicine, there may be a risk of pregnancy.
