Braying Donkeys Salt & Pepper Shakers Vintage Chalk S & P

This vintage pair of salt & pepper shakers are made of chalk and date from the 1930's. They appear to be braying, perhaps at the moon! Early chalkware can be difficult to find unblemished because of the material and the process used to make them. These have some loss to the brown glaze. There are no chips or cracks, and the original corks are present. Height: 2½ inches. Marked, "U.S.A." on the base. The bench is a photo prop and is not part of this listing.
