Carved Wood Rhino Figure Modernistic Art Sculpture

This wood rhinoceros figure has been hand carved and measures 10¼ in. long x 3½ in. high x 2½ in. wide. He has a menacing presence about him, probably because of his large head. Others may see a kindly soul that just wants to be left alone. Either way, this short-legged version of the iconic species has plenty of character. Condition: one of the legs is shorter than the others, which was done by the artist; there's a ½" indent on the left side under the paint (not damage); there are scratches to the paint on the head, right shoulder and rump. All of this can be seen in my photos. The condition described is reflected in the price. The colorization may be wood stain and not paint.
