THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 1800'S ANTIQUE PRINT THAT IS SOFTLY HANDCOLORED. One woman has flaming red hair is laying under an embroidered parosol sun umbrella. The other long hair blonde woman is laying on her back. Beautiful background scene of a large lake, can view various trees and pines, and mountains.
This illustration was produced in France, I believe. SIGNED BY THE ARTIST: PAUL TILLIER. Print is TITLED: BAIGNEUSES.
French artist. Born in Boupère in 1834. Died in Paris on 10th October 1915.
The artist made his debut at the Salon of 1863 and was a popular artist in his time. He was known for portraits of beautiful women. His painting 'Confidence' (1875) is in the collection of the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Troyes, France.
Paper is a thicker stock and has a wide border. Overall with border it measures 12-5/8 inches wide by 9-7/8 inches high. The actual print image measures 8-1/2 inches wide by 4-3/4 inches high. EXCELLENT CONDITION of this antique print. The paper has age toning and slight handling of edges. VERY SUITABLE FOR FRAMING!!
