Description
Piascledine is a drug used to relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee. The drug contains unsaponifiable fractions of avocado oil and soybean oil.
Composition
The active substances are: avocado oil of unsaponifiable fraction and soybean oil of unsaponifiable fraction.
1 hard capsule contains 100 mg of avocado oil and 200 mg of soybean oil.
Excipients: butylated hydroxytoluene, colloidal silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide (E 171), gelatin, erythrosine (E 127), yellow iron oxide (E 172), beef gelatin (Type B), polysorbate 80.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The drug is administered orally with a meal. The capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. It should not be crushed or chewed.
Treatment usually lasts for 3 to 6 months, and the effects of Piascledine itself may be delayed by up to several weeks.
If you feel that you are not getting better too quickly, you should not stop taking your treatment without consulting your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults: 1 capsule daily with a meal.
Action
Piascledine relieves the symptoms of degenerative articular cartilage, including pain, and as a result improves the motor apparatus. The action of the drug is related to the modification of the structure of the articular cartilage and the reduction of its destruction.
Indications
Piascledine 300 is indicated in adults for the slow treatment (relief) of symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee.
Contraindications
Do not take Piascledine:
if you are allergic to avocado, soy or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
if you are allergic to peanuts (e.g. peanuts, peanuts).
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 patients):
diarrhea, stomach pain, stomach pain or a burning sensation
red rash on the skin
headache.
Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 patients):
nausea, vomiting,
hepatitis, jaundice or increase in liver enzymes in the blood
itchy skin, rash or redness of the skin
arthralgia,
increase in blood cholesterol.
Warnings and Precautions
Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.
Use of other medications
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, or have recently taken, and about the doctor you plan to take, including those sold without a prescription.
In particular, tell your doctor if you are taking Piascledine at the same time as other medicines for the treatment of osteoarthritis.
Taking the drug with food and drink
Take the drug with a meal.
