Armour of God HKR Definitive Edition Blu-ray 2 Disc Set
Synopsis:
What do you get when you combine Indiana Jones-style globe-trotting adventure, James Bond-style gadget-laden cars and Jackie Chan-style martial arts action? Armour of God... Jackie's answer to Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Chan plays a former musician turned treasure hunter who goes by the nickname "Asian Hawk". He must team up with his former band-mate (Alan Tam) to rescue his ex-girlfriend (Rosamund Kwan) who has been kidnapped by a religious cult as a means of blackmailing Chan to deliver the remaining pieces of the legendary "Armour of God", a mystical artifact from the Dark Ages. What follows is a non-stop, pulse-pounding, adrenaline ride of precision vehicle stunts, acrobat martial arts fights and high-flying stunts that only Jackie Chan can delivery.
Heralded as one of Jackie's all-time classics, the film is also infamous for featuring a flubbed stunt that nearly cost Jackie his life. Thankfully, Chan recovered and returned to complete the film, which went on to break box office records across Asia.
What makes our version special:
Our release features an exclusive restoration and color correction, combining two different sources to reconstruct the uncut Hong Kong theatrical version.
We used two genuine HD sources, one uncut and the other heavily edited.
After careful inspection we concluded that the edited version had superior colors and detail, but it was also dirtier. The uncut version looked okay, but the colors were washed out and the color grade was too blue. So we removed the dirt from the edited source using Digital Vision Phoenix and spliced in the missing scenes from the uncut version.
Then we had to carefully match the color grade to make the two sources look as seamless as possible. The results are very impressive.
Finally, the original opening titles had to be restored by combining the two sources. This single thing took several weeks and many hours to end up looking seamless. The result is the best looking version of Armour of God that is available.

The subtitles:
Our release includes a NEW line-by-line translation of all the dialogue to create the best and most accurate English subtitles available for this film.
There are two songs that play during the ending credits depending on which audio track you choose. Either "High Upon High" or "Lorelei" will play.
For the first time ever we created English subtitles for BOTH songs which will automatically display during the credits.
You have the option to actually choose which song (and subtitles) play for some audio tracks.
