- Loquat Means Low Maintenance. Capable of tolerating winds, drought and a wide spectrum of soil types, Loquats thrive in full sun and do well in partial shade. Well draining soil and plenty of water are about all your Loquat will require. Large tear drop-shaped, yellow-skinned fruit, rich, sweet flavored yellow flesh has only one or two seeds. Large leaf, globe tree bears February through April.
- Skin pale orange-yellow, medium-thick, easy to peel. Flesh orange-yellow, very sweet but with some acidity, of excellent flavor. Ripens midseason, March to April. It is partially self-fertile but would benefit from cross-pollination. Its broad leaves are large, glossy dark green above and paler green or gray beneath with distinct veins.
