Amish Heirloom Giant Cockscomb. An old fashioned favorite! Cockscomb flowers are also known as Wool Flowers or Brain Celosia, suggestive of a highly colored brain. This cockscombs flower heads reach up to 14" across! This easy to grow plant has been grown by the Amish in Rockville, Indiana for many years, brought from Lancaster, Pa. Cockscomb blooms with a compacted crested head 2-5 inches across, on leafy stems that are 12-28 inches long. The Cockscomb flower blooms from late summer through late fall. Attracts butterflies. Germination 10-15 days, llightly cover with soil, space plants 12” apart. Grows 12 to 18” tall. Full sun.
