Handsome vine. Heavily productive and sweet The vines can tolerate part shade but prefer a sunny location where they can ramble up to 30 feet across either a substantial trellis, fence, or patio cover. Kiwi vines can be successfully grown in large containers. Harvest in late fall. Need well-drained soils and large volumes of water during the growing season. Requires strong support to hold up the plants and the abundant fruit. Often begins bearing the year after planting. Flowers in spring and ripens in September. Use this to pollinate the Actinidia deliciosa. female. Full or mostly sun. Zones 8-10. Water regularly during the first year to establish an extensive root system. General-purpose fertilizer. Grows 20 – 25 feet in length. Prune in winter to control size. The fruit is small with a green interior. Kiwis are dioecious (male and female plants)
