Portulaca may be grown from seed sown early indoors and transplanted outside after frost, or sown directly in the garden after frost. Sowing Seed Indoors: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost in spring using a seed starting kit.
Sow seeds directly where they are to grow and lightly cover with Yates Seed Raising Mix. Firm down and water well. After sowing cover with a sheet of newspaper or cardboard to limit the light to the seeds. Water gently and keep moist through germination period.
