(Coleus blumei) Coleus, also known as Painted Leaves, is a tender perennial that is grown for its colorful foliage. Rainbow Mix has solid or bi-colored leaves in shades of red, green, yellow, maroon and pink.
Coleus seeds need light and warmth to germinate. Sow seeds on top of damp soil or seed starting mix, press them gently into the soil and do not cover. Place the pots on a heating pad, seed-starting mat or cozy window sill to get them started and keep between 70ºF and 75ºF.
Keep the soil moist at 65-85 degrees. Coleus can benefit with bottom heat. Seedlings emerge in 12-21 days. As soon as seedlings emerge, provide plenty of light on a sunny windowsill or grow seedlings 3-4 inches beneath fluorescent plant lights turned on 16 hours per day, off for 8 hours at night.. . . . .364011235555!]
