Fedoskino miniature is a folk craft, a type of Russian lacquer miniature painting with oil paints, which developed at the end of the XVIII century in the village of Fedoskino near Moscow. Fedoskinsky lacquer miniature is executed with oil paints in three or four layers. The original Fedoskinsky technique is "writing through": in this box, the painting is done on an insert of mother-of-pearl.
