Famous Painting Mini Violin Cross-Stitch Chart

This miniature cross-stitch pattern is adapted from a famous painting by Kuzmov Petrov-Vodkin. It’s a miniature version of our Bach and Violin Cross-Stitch Chart. Both were inspired by the 1921 painting showing a worn and well-loved violin lying on a sheet of music by Bach. All of it is staged on a background of what appears to be plush cobalt velvet.
This design is full coverage and designed to be worked on 14 count aida to fit a 3”x5” picture frame or smaller. Other finished sizes are provided so you can make it larger or smaller simply by using a different aida count. Alternate finish sizes are for 11-count if you want to go larger, or 16 and 18-count to go smaller.
This PDF contains a single page – one for the color chart and a separate page for the black & white chart so you can work off of whichever is easiest for you. The floss table is for DMC and shows both color and black & white symbols so even if you choose to print only the black & white chart, you’ll still have a color key handy.
This miniature cross-stitch is a mere 55 stitches wide X 42 high.

This chart uses just 30 colors but confetti stitches are few and far between. It is a downloadable PDF.

Confetti stitch = same color stitches being scattered rather than clustered in blocks (for those new to the art) – much like taking multi-colored confetti and throwing it up in the air.
Miniature size charts are cute framed on their own or you can work several designs and turn them into a pillow. If you’re super ambitious, you could even sew various designes into a throw for your couch or bed.
