Hippophae rhamnoides fructus. Sea buckthorn has been used for medicinal purposes in China, Greece and Russia since ancient times. The fruits contain about 7% oil, sugars, organic acids, pectins, tannins, large amounts of vitamin C, B vitamins, flavonoids, vitamins A, D, F, K and vitamin P-rutin, as well as an inexhaustible amount of other biologically active substances. We also find the alkaloid hippophein.
Usage: pour 0.5 l of boiling water over 1 tablespoon, infuse for 40 minute, drink 2 - 3 times a day.
