Surf the net for similar sculpture and you won’t find one. This is a seamless master piece indeed As an intact tomb ,When Tuth ankh Amon’s tomb was found, by law Howard carter could not take any of the findings. But it seems he managed to hide a few of precious artifacts. When the French inspector insisted that all luggage would be inspected including Carter’s before leaving the country, the unique piece was found. The original piece was found among his personal belongings in a box of wine labeled with “Distended to England”!!.Having been questioned, he answered “ it must be the ignorance of my steward”!!If this one survived the escape trip out of Egypt several solid gold ones may be didn’t. As no other has ever been found yet, the original piece is one of kind among other left over kings’ treasures .It is displayed in the second floor of the Egyptian museum (see attached photo) - wing of king Tuth. This special replica was carved and colored by an Egyptian artist more than 93 years ago!.The white color is the first to pale and gets yellowish but the eye white on this replica sculpture has remained unchanged after decades.!!It seems that this modern artist wanted to match the ancient vivid organic colors of Egyptian artists’… and he did!. Both original and replica have the same crack on the left hand side of the face.Traces of a similar crack on the king's gold mask delivers a message to us!Some archeologists believe that the ancient artists that made the head and gold mask wanted to refer to a wound that the king had on his face.Probably refer to the murder of king Tuth. Lotus usually blooms in the morning with the sunrise. It represents resurrection to an Egyptian.Tuth is blooming out of lotus is an indication to his resurrection.
