Royal Doulton Porcelain Figurine Celeste Blue Dress Peggy Davies HN2237 1959 This first version of Celeste is one of Peggy Davies' designs, introduced in 1959 and withdrawn in 1971. She's a peaceful figure, in a fairly plain aqua/blue dress with black ribbons. To me, it looks like she is outside looking up at the sky, while holding her hair and hair ribbons in place so that they don't blow around. Origin: England. Maker: Royal Doulton, Doulton & Co., Limited Marks: Has the Royal Doulton mark and is also marked "Celeste HN 2237; Corp 1959" and has additional numbers below it all. Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, crazing or repairs.
