N,N-Dimethylethanolammonium anisate is a yellowish viscous liquid. It is a neutral salt of anisic (4-methoxybenzoic) acid. It finds applications as a possible alternative for metal salts of anisic acid or anisic acid which has limited solubility in water or other solvents. Hence potential uses as an organo-catalyst, biomolecule solubilizer, or preservative suffice.
