A traditional variety producing small 3-4 main heads projected well above the foliage followed by large yields of side shoot spears nonuniform in maturity resulting in a long harvest period.
Used by Romans and called "cabbage flower" and in England as "Italian Asparagus" from early 1700's. High vitamin C and protein. Likes soil rich and well watered.
Sowing time is Autumn to early Spring in hot climates. Avoid hot times of the year. Prefer sunny position, sow 5mm deep, emerge 7-14 days, best germination at less than 22 °C soil temperature. Harvest approx. 9 weeks from transplant. Frost hardy.
Propagation notes will be supplied with seed packet.
