This design is inspired by the ancient Greek symbol of olive branch.
According to the ancient myths, during the ancient times,
two of the Olympian Gods, Athina and Poseidon decided to compete
against each other, regarding who will be the patron God of Athens,
which was then named Kekropia.
Athina’s gift towards Athenians was an olive tree. Ever since this became
the holy tree of Athens, a symbol of peace and prosperity.
So she won the competition and that is why Athens took her name.
