Sweet as an apple is the expression used to describe this onions mild flavor. Great grilled, and even raw. A short day type of onion. The bulb is thick and flattened. It is sometimes known as Vidalia, or Noonday onion. Pull onions at any stage for fresh eating. Harvest young onions to eat as scallions. For full sized bulbs, don't pull onions until bulbs are big and tops start to yellow and fall over.
