Dido's debut album, No Angel, can be compared to the likes of Sarah McLachlan and Sinéad O'Connor. Dido's voice and music has that depth of soul with a Celtic vibe, yet with all the sharp edges rounded out. Dido's music has been referred to as dream-pop mixed with trip-hop, the result being mid-tempo ballads reminiscent of Seal's style. With the use of the acoustic rhythm guitar, fluid strings, and a snare-driven tempo, No Angel provides an ethereal, misty sound that has both an ancient and modern sound.
