A 1939 souvenir spoon commemorating the royal visit of King George II and Queen Elizabeth to Canada. This visit at the dawn of WWII was extended to the USA and was considered a good will tour that was pivitol to US support for Britain.
The spoon is silverplate, the size of a coffee or tea spoon and was made by Wm A. Rogers. It has a classic column stem topped by the heads of King and Queen in a circle topped by a crown. It is identified as Canada, 1939 on the circle. Tiny bit of silver wear on the back of the bowl but no other damage.
